Pilar’s first encounter with CISV was as a Village child delegate to Vancouver Island in 1965. She became involved with the QC Chapter as a board member in 1987, the year after her eldest child went to Village. Amazed at how the CISV experience continues to bring out the best in a child, she stayed involved in the Chapter then on, becoming Chapter President in 1992. She has remained involved in CISV becoming NA President in 1998, International Trustee in 2003 and Asia Pacific Regional Coordinator in 2006. In 2010, she was elected as an International Executive Trustee.
Mini Camps have been her focus since she was Chapter President and, therefore, continues to be involved with the Chapter’s Mini Camp Committee over and above her role as a member of the QC advisory board.
