Ira Cruz, Vice President

Believing that nothing is stronger than the heart of a volunteer, Ira involves himself with organizations that share his passion. In 2009, when Tropical Storm Ondoy struck Metro Manila, he joined Angel Brigade—a volunteer group organized to address the primary needs of the flood victims and, later on, victims of various other calamities. Ira is also an active member of privately-run election watchdog NAMFREL as well as other advocacy movements.

In the summer of 2008, upon the invitation of a friend, and armed with love for kids and basic knowledge of CISV, Ira plunged into CISV as a staffer for a Mini Camp. Amazed at how five days can start lasting friendships and ignite change in the participants, he has staffed for every Mini Camp since then. Years later, as his commitment to the program and CISV grew, he accepted the challenge of heading the Mini Camp Team and the complementing role of Junior Branch Liaison to the Chapter and to the National Junior Branch. He went as the (Village) Adult Leader of the Philippine Delegation to Sweden in 2012 and staffed for the Philippine-hosted Village in 2013.
